Wild & Scenic Film Festival at Warner Grand Theatre, Sunday, January 22nd at 4pm.  An exciting selection of adventurous and inspirational films about nature.  You’ll be moved, transfixed and energized to make a difference in our world. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at White Point Nature Preserve, Monday, January 16th, 9am – 2pm.  Join in this community effort to beautify the nature preserve.  Sign up to volunteer at www.pvplc.volunteerhub.com.

Farming in the South Bay Then and Now Presentation at White Point Nature Education Center, Saturday, January 28th, 10am – 12pm. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve, Saturday, January 7th, 9am – 12pm.  Help restore this unique canyon habitat home to many threatened and endangered wildlife species.  Sign up at www.pvplc.volunteerhub.com.

 

Full Moon Hike at George F Canyon, Friday, January 13th with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy.  Explore nocturnal sights with an expert naturalist under a full moon at the George F Canyon Nature Preserve.  Must be age 9 and up.  $12 per person.  Reservations required at www.pvplc.org, Events & Activities.

Family Nature Exploration at the White Point Nature Education Center, Saturday, January 14th, 10am Meet at Nature Center for opportunities for a family-friendly guided walk and experience local nature first-hand.  Bring the whole family!  Free. 1600 W. Birding with Wild Birds Unlimited at White Point Nature Preserve, Wednesday, January 18th, 8:30am. Explore the birds making a home in the restored habitat at this beautiful preserve.  Binoculars supplied for beginners.  The program is free.  All ages welcome.  White Point Nature Preserve is located at 1600 W. Birding with Wild Birds Unlimited at George F Canyon presented by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, Wednesday, January 25th, 8:30am Explore the birds in nesting season making a home in the canyon.  The program is free and all ages welcome.  Location: 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates 90274. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Native Plant Nursery, Saturday, January 28th, 9am – 12pm.  Nurture seedlings and grow shrubs for habitat restoration projects all around the Peninsula.  Reservation required by Wednesday, January 25th.  Sign up at http://pvplc.volunteerhub.com

Rapid Response Team, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am – 12pm. Work alongside Conservancy staff protecting important wildlife habitat by closing unauthorized trails! Task include trail maintenance, building fence, installing signage and more! We work at various locations around the Preserve where work is most needed. Directions to sites emailed upon sign up.
