PVHA and PVE City Council Received Public Input on CEPC Litigation

On Tuesday, October 27, both the PV Homes Association (PVHA) Board of Directors (BoD) and the PVE City Council met to receive public input regarding pending itigation regarding city parkland. As previously noted (see “PVE Parklands Decision Pending…” the city of PVE and the PVHA must decide whether to appeal a recent judge’s ruling on summary judgement regarding Citizens for Enforcement of Parkland Covenants v. City et al (CEPC).

Both meetings were held at the City Hall Council Chambers. Over a dozen residents spoke at the PVHA BoD meeting at 3 pm, and approximately a dozen spoke later that evening at the PVE City Council open session, including two members of the LHBOA Board of Directors who spoke on behalf of the board. All speakers spoke against an appeal, a position that would restore parklands to their previous status as defined in the original deeds establishing them as city open space. On the other hand, due to potential pending itigation, none of the residents were given insight into the full set of financial burdens that postion would entail.

No decision was made at the PVHA BoD meeting. After the PVE City Council open session, the council met in closed session and determined that no decision would be made at this time.

Keep watching this space for further developments.
